Boyd Family

A lifelong Tennessean, James was saved at the age of 16. He describes his conversion as "living proof that God has a sense of humor. " He initially went to church hoping to meet a girl but was instead confronted with the words of Jesus in John 3:7, “Ye must be Born Again…” He had often heard the expression "born again Christian" but had never pondered its impact on his own life. He received Jesus and was water baptized on August 8th, 1983. His life was further transformed five years later when he was baptized in the Holy Spirit, and he has been involved in the Pentecostal/Charismatic movement ever since.

In 1999, James and longtime friend David Pope started James and Dave's Bible Page as an outlet to share their Bible study articles. This opened up a number of new doors, leading up to him being ordained as a minister in 2008. He went on to serve for eight years as dean of Word of Faith Bible Training Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. He now attends Trinity Community Church , also in Knoxville, where he is involved in numerous other activities such as serving as a Community Group leader and as a Prison Ministry volunteer.

James holds a degree in Communication from the University of Tennessee and is also a graduate of Trinity Ministry Apprenticeship Program. He and his wife, Sandi live in Clinton, Tennessee. They have three daughters, Neely, Zoe and Ember. They also recently welcomed their first grandson, Madden!
